Savyn Launcher – Privacy Policy

Who we are

Savyn Launcher ("Savyn," "we," "our," "app") is an Android launcher developed by Savyn Labs that personalizes your home screen on-device using artificial intelligence.

What data the app accesses (on your device)

To power core launcher features, Savyn accesses the following on your device:

• Installed apps list – to display your app drawer and shortcuts.
• App usage events (requires "Usage Access" permission) – app opens, close times and durations, and screen on/off events, to build on-device suggestions and insights.
• App categories – categories we derive from the installed apps list to organize your drawer and insights.

How we use the data

• Personalization & insights: Show the right apps at the right time and your screen-time patterns.
• On-device ML only: Recommendations are computed locally using machine learning; no data leaves your device.

Data sharing & transfers

• We do not send your data to our servers.
• We do not share data with third parties.
• We do not sell data.

Storage & security

• Data stays locally on your device in an encrypted database.
• No cloud backup by Savyn. (If you enable system-level backups, your OS/vendor policies may apply.)

Retention & deletion

• Data persists on your device until you delete it.
• You can erase all local data by uninstalling the app.

Permissions we request & why

• Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required to read app usage events for on-device suggestions and insights. This is a sensitive permission that Android protects; we only use it locally and never transmit this data.

What we do NOT collect

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Financial information
• Photos, videos, or files
• Contacts or calendar events
• Device identifiers for advertising

Third-party components

• TensorFlow Lite: On-device machine learning library. All processing happens locally; no data is sent to Google or any third party.

Children's privacy

Savyn isn't directed to children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as needed. Changes will be displayed in-app and at the URL where this policy is hosted.
